John W. Treviño

Writer

John W. Treviño still doesn't know how he got here: nothing in his life prepared him to be a writer. He works in insurance regulation, praying that no one figures out his middle name; he once accidentally lit a workplace on fire by misusing a toaster; and he studied English murderers and their executions in school. John W. is not often invited to parties.

Onwards: An Anthology (Amazon link)
Story: "Real Cracker White Trash"
An unhappy couple spectacularly unravels when a waitress who's proudly "real cracker white trash" walks into their lives.
A Wicked, Dangerous Girl
A science fiction story about a woman struggling with her actions in the aftermath of a war in which she played a pivotal role. Probably my favorite thing I've written.
In the Blood
Three lonely people, two of them married, prove that unhappy families are all unhappy in their own way.
The Meet Cute at the Murder Kroger
A romantic farce taking place in one of Atlanta's weirdest landmarks, the legendary "Murder Kroger." The earliest of these short stories.
Under the Water
What happens when the mission's over? How does a spy's family react to the choices he's made?
